The first Northampton SportsAid Lunch of 2019 features a former England international rugby player who won multiple Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup titles with Leicester Tigers.
Leon Lloyd will be at the County Ground on Friday, April 26, to talk about his experiences on the rugby pitch and how he has transitioned into success in the business world.
Lloyd, now 41, is Chief Executive Officer of Switch The Play, a Community Interest Company which helps other professional sportspeople follow in his footsteps into a career away from competition.
He is also a judiciary officer for the Rugby Football Union, an ambassador and business mentor for The Prince’s Trust and a Patron for Action Deafness.
Proceeds from the event go to support SportsAid, which since 1976 has helped aspiring British sportspeople when it matters most – at the very start of their journey towards becoming the next generation of sporting heroes.
SportsAid helps young, unfunded athletes aged between 12 and 18 overcome the financial challenges of trying to reach their potential. At the London Olympics 21 gold medals were won by former SportsAid recipients, and the charity supports individuals across 60 sports.
